10 Ways Back To The Future Would Look Completely Different In 2015

1. The New Theme Tune

Back To The Future 2015
Universal Pictures

The two most memorable pieces of music from Back to the Future are the overture and the pop song.

Composer Alan Silvestri had scored Romancing the Stone for director Robert Zemeckis but was now penning music for his story about a kid who accidentally travels back in time in a stainless steel sports car. How does anyone even begin to do that?

Then, as audiences watched a smoking Delorean back out of a trailer in the middle of the night, a classic was born. A piece of orchestral brilliance that now sits right up there with the greatest works of Bernard Herrmann, John Williams and Hans Zimmer.

Should Back to the Future IV come to pass tampering with Silvestri's urgently nostalgic theme would be a crime against movie soundtracks.

However, tackling the current pop hit presents a more serious problem.

"The Power of Love" by Huey Lewis & The News captured the imagination of a generation of kids who all wanted to skateboard to school and BTTF is still the first thing people think of when they hear it on the radio. It's intrinsically linked to the franchise but kids aren't exercising much these days and pop has moved on from mullets.

It would clearly need refreshing - and with a new recording artist... But who?

That's the million-pound question that could make or break a fourth instalment. Answers on a postcard, please.
