10 Ways Back To The Future Would Look Completely Different In 2015
8. Re-Naming The Dog
A select few animals have travelled in time. Brian from Family Guy went back to the show's very first episode, Captain Kirk & Co. captured a 20th century humpback whale and saved Earth, Doctor Who had his robot dog K-9 and Doctor Emmet Brown loved a dog.
The latter's younger self owned a hound back in 1955 named Copernicus after the German who thought the Sun was the centre of the universe. Whilst he was some way off in his initial measurements it meant that he was the smartest man in the world for a while... Until Einstein came along.
He adjusted Copernicus's Heliocentric model, his principal of relativity suggesting that there is no true centre of the universe. There's a fair bit of synergy in these Back to the Future films, you know.
In the 80s Doc Brown owned a scruffy sheepdog called Einstein who would be long-gone by 2015 unless the Hill Valley scientist had perfected cloning.
A new Back to the Future adventure (presumably with a new Doc) wouldn't be the same without a time-travelling hound named after a the pre-eminent physicist of the time and there can only be one.
"There's a good boy, Hawking! Now what have I told you about climbing on the furniture?".
