10 Ways Captain America: Civil War Could Be A Disaster

6. It€™s Too Long

Civil War is in a really tricky spot. On one hand, it needs to spend time with all of the supporting characters and subplots lest they feel non-essential. On the other hand, if it spends too much time away from the main action, the story will drag and lose focus. There€™s a sweet spot they need to hit to balance those two threads and ironically, giving us more time with the heroes could adversely impact the film. The film is going to clock in at 2 hours and 26 minutes, making it a mere 4 minutes longer than Age Of Ultron. That length certainly doesn€™t seem cumbersome by any means and it€™s entirely possible that fans will wish it had been longer when all is said and done. That still doesn€™t excuse the possibility that the film will try to do too much. Marvel has never really had issues with pacing or overlong movies but they€™ve also never attempted anything on the scale of Civil War, where they€™re trying to cram a team€™s worth of heroes into a solo outing. Let€™s hope the editors were up to task and found the perfect balance of time or else we could be waiting anxiously for the credits to roll.
