10 Ways DCEU's New Multiverse Could Outshine The MCU

2. More Standalone Stories

With movies like The Batman and Joker standalone in nature, there's a lot of confusion about what that means for the wider DCEU. Will Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader one day appear in a Justice League movie? Is he going to cross paths with Joaquin Phoenix's Clown Prince of Crime?

Well, those questions will be answered with the introduction of this Multiverse, as the acknowledgement of multiple realities will make it easier for fans to accept multiple versions of the same heroes and villains. As a result, Warner Bros. will be able to release a wider array of movies, an option which isn't really there for Marvel Studios.

The MCU now has its own, often hard to follow continuity which is about to expand massively both thanks to Disney+ and Kevin Feige's plans for the X-Men and Fantastic Four. If you don't watch those TV shows, then you'll be left scratching your head about what's happening on the big screen, a move which could alienate a lot of casual moviegoers.

Warner Bros., on the other hand, will be able to tell a tonne of standalone stories all thanks to its very own Multiverse.
