Marvel Studios has never touched on how their Peter Parker became a superhero, so taking things down the mystical route would be a major change for the iconic character.

It's also an idea which would lay the groundwork for a lot of big stories in future, with the introduction of Ezekiel (another mentor of Peter's who had gained spider powers through magic) and the "Other" two ideas Marvel Studios could perfect on screen.
