When you think of Spider-Man appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you do immediately think of his introduction being explained in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. As a result, the only franchise that would benefit from the crossover would be Marvel Studios' franchise - and that might be a reason for Sony to oppose it. But what if it was the other way around?
