9. The Heart Of Ego, The Living Planet
Its been widely rumoured that the villain of Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 will be one of Marvels most unusual characters, Ego, the Living Planet. The comics depict him as an otherwise ordinary planet who was gifted consciousness by a cosmic entity called The Stranger. With a couple twists, that origin could easily be changed to better fit the MCU and the Infinity Stones (like Vision). The film could submit that Ego was created by the Soul Stone. It would certainly be a plausible explanation for how a planet came to be alive with the goal of trying to conquer everything in sight. Director James Gunn has said hes not interested in getting caught up with Infinity Stones again for the sequel, and while he could just be lying, its equally possible that one simply wont play a significant role until the very end of the film. In this proposed scenario, the Stone's presence would be a shocking reveal only after Ego had been destroyed. Finding his heart, the Guardians could vow to seek answers, leading right into Infinity War.
