10 Ways MCU Movies Nearly Turned Out Completely Different
1. Adam Warlock - Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2
Throughout the last 13 years, one of the trademark aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that fans have come to love is its post credit stings. These have had the amazing ability to tease the future of the franchise, allowing fans to get ridiculously excited for movies, stories, and even certain characters yet to come.
One of the greatest examples of the latter was Ayesha's creation of Adam Warlock at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Though the character has yet to be properly brought into the franchise, fans have been eagerly awaiting the glorious moment he shows up since this tease in 2017.
In the source material, Warlock is synonymous with both the Infinity Stones and the Infinity War, and there was a time that he was set to feature a lot more heavily in James Gunn's Guardians sequel. Not only would this have greatly changed the movie, it would have surely had an impact on the landscape of Infinity War as well.
Ultimately, the character was sacrificed as the director felt there were too many characters and he didn't want to sacrifice Mantis. Though this logic is sound, it still hurts that Adam Warlock wasn't introduced to the MCU in time to feature in the adaptation of the story that saw him lead the forces of good against Thanos and the Infinity Stones.
