10 Ways The X-Men Films Nearly Turned Out Very Differently

8. It Could Have Been Good - X-Men Origins: Wolverine

X-Men Origins: Wolverine may not be the worst film in the franchise but it is definitely the most loathed. It was vilified so passionately, it could've killed the series and destroyed Deadpool's chances of getting his own movie.

Virtually everything that viewers hated about this misfire was nowhere to be seen in the original script. In the first draft, there was no Cyclops, Emma Frost, Gambit, and, most importantly, no Deadpool.

According to director, Gavin Hood, the plot was meant to be scaled down to focus on Logan's destructive relationship with his half-brother, Sabretooth. The film would've concluded with the Ol' Canucklehead battling an army of Sabretooth clones.

It would also show Wolvie dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after seeing so much death during his years in the American Civil War, both World Wars, and the Vietnamese War. Instead, this arc was condensed into a single scene in the film's introduction. You know what's the most annoying part? That was the best scene in the movie! We could've got a whole film of that but instead we got cameos galore and Baraka Deadpool!
