10 Ways To Reboot The Amazing Spider-Man Correctly
4. Peter Parker Meets Miles Morales?
Speaking of unlikely scenarios, this suggestion might fall into that category as well. But, as improbable as it might seem, a live-action introduction of Brian Michael Bendis' extremely popular Miles Morales character just might have the potential to hit big. Miles Morales is the current Spider-Man in Marvel's Ultimate comic book line, which takes place in its own continuity separate to the main Marvel Universe. In the Ultimate world, their Peter Parker died and Miles took over as Spider-Man in his honour. Miles is the first African-American character to take on the identity of Spider-Man and while their was initially criticism in some quarters that Marvel had simply created him as a publicity stunt and attempt at political correctness, common sense prevailed when it turned out that Bendis was telling some great stories. Miles and Peter Parker of the regular Marvel Universe actually met up in the 2012 series Spider-Men, a mind-bending and fun story that we believe would make for a pretty cool film. As an interesting aside, part of the inspiration for Miles came from actor Donald Glover on cult comedy TV series Community. Glover campaigned online with the goal of securing an audition for the role of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, but was unsuccessful. He then appeared in an episode of Community wearing Spider-Man pyjamas, and Bendis has been quoted as saying he saw him and thought 'I would like to read that book'. So he created Miles Morales. Nifty, huh?
