10 Ways To Reinvent The Batman Film Franchise After The Dark Knight Rises

5. Villain Spin-Offs

Putting aside the catastrophe that was Halle Berry€™s Catwoman (if you managed to forget it existed, sorry for bringing it up) one route that could be taken when following up The Dark Knight Rises would for a film which takes a closer look into the backstory of one of the many villains of the Batman universe. With such a huge and respected line up of baddies, many of Batman€™s most feared arch nemeses have the potential to be explored in far more detail that they have thus far. Many existing Batman movies have even been accused of taking more of an interest in the baddies than Bats himself. Joker dominated The Dark Knight, despite the fact that he swoops in and out of the movie intermittently. Similarly, Tim Burton was clearly more fascinated by both Penguin and Catwoman in Batman Returns. Personally I€™d love to see Cillian Murphy€™s Scarecrow given his own film, if only to see him tazered by a child while on horseback again.
