10 Ways To Reinvent The Batman Film Franchise After The Dark Knight Rises

8. The Death of Batman

Surprisingly, several Batman comic-books and graphic novels have dealt with the possibilities surrounding the death of Batman. Furthermore, with Christopher Nolan explicitly conveying his wishes to definitively end his Bat-universe, it€™s even possible Bruce Wayne won€™t live to see the end credits of The Dark Knight Rises. It might be highly unlikely, but you can€™t rule out the possibility following Nolan€™s promise of an ultimate - no questions left unanswered - ending to his Batman trilogy. 2008€™s Batman R.I.P series of comics explored the possibilities of Batman€™s potential demise, with a storyline which saw Batman seemingly killed off in a helicopter explosion. It was then hinted in the closing frames of the comic that Dick Grayson - aka Nightwing -would become Batman€™s successor. Somewhat predictably, it was later revealed that Batman survived the fiery blast, yet the controversial concept had many guessing what the future would hold for a Gotham City without Batman.
