3. What If Jane Foster Had Gone To Sakaar?
Jane Foster seemed to have been quietly ushered out of the MCU in Ragnarok, and honestly no one seemed to miss her that much. Like a lot of the Earth based Thor stuff in the early MCU, everything around Jane seemed too dry and serious, the Earth characters seemed flat and Thor felt bland.
Taika Waititi’s take on the character in Ragnarok though reinvented him, trimming away a lot of the fat, including Jane and her colleagues. However, with the news she’s set to follow some of the Mighty Thor arc and wield Mjolnir in Thor: Love & Thunder, she’s suddenly become relevant again.
We know that Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster is back for What If alongside Natalie Portman voicing Jane Foster. It’s probably best to forget the first two Thor movies like we forgot Thor’s blond eyebrows, so bringing Foster into Sakaar seems the best bet.
Had she been still dating Thor, it’s likely she would’ve been with him in Asgard when Hela cast him out, so the pair might have been left to survive for themselves there. It’s probably best to keep her Mjolnir wielding back for Love & Thunder, but she still could prove handy in other ways.
