Ever see that Futurama episode where everyone keeps eating those snacks and they turn out to be baby aliens. Well, that's kind of like this film, except the food is sweet and the aliens are horrifying sludge creatures that will attack you at a moment's notice.

Directed by Larry Cohen, The Stuff is a 1985 satirical horror movie about the dangers of overconsumption. The titular Stuff itself is a sweet white goo that is marketed as a low-calorie delicious snack, even though it was found underground and wasn't given any sort of testing.

When consumed, the Stuff slowly takes over a person's body, turning them into a zombie-like creature before leaving them a hollowed-out shell. Obviously, this is quite bad, and the film details one man's attempts to put an end to this madness.

The premise of this picture is quite silly and it can be hard to find it scary at points. However, it's also extremely visceral at times.

The nature of its villain means there's a lot of oozing out of people's eyes, noses, and mouths, resulting in some horrifying facial expressions that will put you off ice cream for good.

Or should that be ice scream?
