10 Weirdest Cameos In James Bond Movies
7. Dolph Lundgren - A View To A Kill
A View To A Kill was one of Bond’s more star-studded fiascos with Christopher Walken, Grace Jones, Tanya Roberts and Patrick Macnee who were all big stars at the time of the film’s release. However, A View To A Kill was also the first-ever film role for an icon of the 80s.
Before Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed and fought Rocky Balboa in Rocky IV, Dolph Lundgren’s first-ever film role was as one of General Gogol’s KGB thugs in 1985’s A View To A Kill. The scene, in particular, is the moment when General Gogol confronts Max Zorin at the racetrack about his past life with the KGB.
That is before May Day appears and, with her Valkyrie strength, picks up Gogol’s other, smaller henchman, prompting Lundgren to hold Zorin’s at gunpoint. It was the first of many times we get to see Lundgren hold a gun up to his enemies.
However, this small background role was enough exposure to get Dolph Lundgren cast as the villain of Rocky IV, his very next role, where he got to show the world his body-building physique that was hidden behind the tuxedo he wore in A View To A Kill. After that, Lundgren’s career skyrocketed, and he found roles in subsequent action movies such as Red Scorpion, The Punisher, I Come In Peace, Universal Soldier and The Expendables.
