Years and years before Joe Manganiello became a household name thanks to both HBO's hit vampire series True Blood and the Magic Mike movies, the actor made his feature film debut in Sam Raimi's original 2002 Spider-Man.

Manganiello played Peter Parker's (Tobey Maguire) comic book nemesis Flash Thompson, a high school bully who appears early in the movie and ends up getting his ass kicked by a newly-powered Parker.

But given that Manganiello was just 24 years old at the time and didn't sport his now-signature facial hair, you'd be forgiven for missing him even on repeat viewings.

Fun fact: he initially auditioned for the role of Peter Parker himself, but his statuesque build clearly made him a far better fit for Flash.

Manganiello also briefly reprised the role in Spider-Man 3 five years later, visible in the background at Harry Osborn's (James Franco) funeral at the very end of the movie.
