10 Weirdest Dracula Adaptations

Kids love Dracula and there are plenty of entries to the Dracula kiddie hall of fame. There’s Little Dracula, which saw him as a green pre-teen and Sesame Street’s The Count, whose aristocratic rank seems to have given him some OCD. But, perhaps the oddest was Count Duckula - Dracula as a duck.

Duckula was a harmless vampire duck with little interest in the machinations of his vicious vampire forbears. Though a product of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s his characteristics couldn’t be more 2020; he’s a vegetarian obsessed with becoming a celebrity.

The narration and animation at the start of the opening credits is mildly terrifying to an eight-year-old, as well as being delightfully incomprehensible to its young audience.

If you’re looking for some vampire based ‘80s nostalgia, and who isn’t, Duckula should be at the top of your list.

Bowen Revill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
