Out of all the stupid ideas to make a horror movie from, Jack Frost is up there with the stupidest. Jack Frost is a movie about a psychotic killer snowman. Not a psychotic killer who dresses up as a snowman, but a psychotic killer who literally becomes a snowman.

Jack Frost is one of those films that plays hard and fast with reality in a vain attempt to justify its completely incomprehensible concept, then just has fun with the idea like a kid with a new toy. Jack Frost himself isn’t made up to be scary in any way, and looks like a harmless holly-jolly snowman, making his murder spree all the more bizarre and nonsensical.

Jack Frost is the B movie of B movies: strange, weird, but really enjoyable in a ‘so bad its good’ way. With such a strange concept, one can’t really take this movie seriously, and it’s to the movie’s merit that it really doesn’t take itself seriously either with Christmas based one-liners after every onscreen kill. All in all, Jack Frost is a fun film with an incredibly silly premise.

Next to Santa’s Slay (a film about Santa being a rampaging demon), Jack frost is definitely fun viewing for any horror fan around the holiday time.
