4. Motorcycling Captain America
Steve Rogers has not been served well by his movie adaptations. Sure, The First Avengers and Winter Soldier are amongst the best MCU movies so far, but there are way more crappy Captain America films that affect the batting average. In 1990 there was a direct-to-video Cap movie starring JD Salinger's (as in The Catcher In The Rye) son, with plastic ears stuck to the side of his mask. That was cheesy and stupid along with being pretty similar to that fake grindhouse-style trailer somebody put together for The Winter Soldier but was pretty faithful to the comics, besides making the Red Skull an Italian for some reason. Then there are the first two Captain America movies. 1979's Captain America and the sequel, Death Too Soon, from the same year could charitably called loose adaptations of Cap's story. Less charitably, they were cynical cash-grabs intended to capitalise on the popularity of stuntman Evel Knievel. Meaning Steve Rogers rode a motorbike. Incessantly. Even when it didn't make sense. Like the part where he puts a hang glider over it to make it fly.
