10 Weirdest Movie Crossovers Ever

4. Batman Vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

WWE Flintstones Crossover
Warner Bros. Animation

Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are both characters Warner Brothers have owned for a while, and both have a long history of success in the comics. In that sense, at least, they seem a decent pair.

The Batcave and the sewers aren’t even that different of places to have a lair.

Considering the vastly different tones of each franchise though, it’s a much stranger pairing than the surface similarities make them seem.

It’s the most recent entry on this list, releasing just this year. While it’s not bad by any stretch, it does feel like it’s two similar, shorter movies mashed together.

The Turtles’ movie involves them defeating the Shredder, while Batman’s has him foiling Ra’s Al Ghul’s plan to take over the city. Turns out, of course, that the Shredder is working for Ra’s Al Ghul, so they want the same thing. They team up, get the job done and go home.

Throw in a little subplot where Batman and the Turtles each mistake the other for working for the bad guy, add in Batgirl, Robin and some banter between the two groups, and you’ve got yourself a crossover movie.
