10 Weirdest Places Horror Movie Characters Were Trapped In
6. Five-Second Time Loop - The Endless (2017)
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead's indie sci-fi horror The Endless is a time-travel movie quite unlike any other, as rather than explore the possibilities of altering timelines (ala The Butterfly Effect), it restricts all of the time-based action to small, self-contained bubbles, or time loops.
Brothers Justin (Benson) and Aaron Smith (Moorhead) are called back to Camp Arcadia, the so-called UFO death cult they escaped when they were younger, by a cryptic VHS message. Upon arrival, everything seems normal and everyone seems sane, except for a mysterious force that lingers around the camp causing small, strange happenings.
As the god-like Entity reveals itself, it becomes apparent that it has the ability to manipulate time and has taken the camp hostage in a never-ending game of death and renewal, where those caught are doomed to repeat the same things over and over again. While most of its time loops play out over days, weeks, and months, there is one unwilling participant who has been there for much longer - Early 1900s Man (Ric Sarabia).
Stuck inside a tent, inside just a few seconds of time, Early 1900s Man is continuously attempting to escape his circumstances, running for the door and crying for help, before he is vaporised and reset to his original position. Worst of all though, is the fact that he appears to remember it all.
