10 Well Known Actors Who Got Worse Over Time

8. Linda Hamilton

Next on the list is Linda Hamilton, who is best known for her stellar performances as Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise. This character has gone down as one of the all-time greatest female warriors on the big screen.

Dante's Peak in 1997 would be her last major hit. The disaster thriller made a great impression with its sense of rising tension and threat. It showed that Hamilton could still tackle the thriller and action genres successfully. Once this production came and went though, the actress rarely appeared in major releases from then on.

Hamilton ended up falling out of prominence at the turn of the millennium. She chose not to appear in Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines, feeling that her character's story arc was finished. While efforts like Smile, Missing In America, The Kid and I and Broken kept her busy through the 2000s, there was never a role that stood out the same way Sarah Connor did.

Ironically, sixteen years after turning down the series, she was tempted back to the Terminator franchise in 2019. Despite the fanfare surrounding the return of an iconic role, her turn in Terminator: Dark Fate felt incredibly tired and phoned in.
