10 Well Known Actors Who Got Worse Over Time
6. Geena Davis
Another eighties star who fell off the grid, Geena Davis once delivered powerhouse performances across the industry. Following a modelling stint in the late seventies and early eighties, she would prove her acting abilities for the rest of that decade.
Many of Davis's films at this time were big hits, most notably The Fly and Beetlejuice. In the former she starred alongside Jeff Goldblum in one of the most revered horror remakes ever made. The latter saw her embrace the stranger directorial style of Tim Burton to craft a memorable production.
Unfortunately, come the mid-nineties, she would follow up these great performances with the disastorous Cutthroat Island. Released in 1995, it remains one of the biggest box office bombs of all time. This massive commercial failure ended up stalling her career, and it never really recovered.
Davis herself admits that film roles really started to dry up once she reached her forties. Aside from the Stuart Little movies in 1999 and 2002, she rarely starred in any major releases and had next to no presence in the years following. Her work now continues on the small screen in efforts like Grey's Anatomy, a drastic step down.
