Album: The Sinister Urge (2001)

References: If Zombie set out to make an unofficial sequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then he made a livelier, more entertaining film than either Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III or The Return Of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (or, come to think of it, any subsequent reboot).

Unfortunately, his final cut was a little too disturbing for post-Columbine America, so Universal dropped the picture. The story goes that after Zombie screened the film for the President of the studio, he was told to destroy it.

Instead, he bought it back and handed distribution rights to Lions Gate, who didn’t put it in theatres until 2003 – 3 years after it was filmed. By that time, the title song had been around for years, whetting the appetite of fans who were under no impression that the singer’s feature debut  would be a Pixar movie.

All dialogue samples are taken from the film.
