10 Wild Avengers: Age Of Ultron Rumours Which Ended Up Being Bullsh*t

4. Spider-Man Cameo

Spider-Man was rumoured to make a cameo appearance in The Avengers, so is it really any surprise that similar reports started doing the rounds for the sequel three years later? Even before Marvel reached a deal with Sony to have Peter Parker join the Marvel Cinematic Universe there was talk of the character somehow being used in Avengers: Age of Ultron, even if it was just a one off appearance. However, it was when talk of that agreement first surfaced (around the time of the "Sony Hack") that the rumours got really over the top. All of a sudden, Spider-Man was apparently being lined up for a cameo or at least some sort of reference, and the deal being made official obviously just heightened excitement. As a result, fans were expecting a Spider-Man Easter Egg right up until the sequel reached cinemas, and they were obviously left sorely disappointed when there wasn't so much as a mention of a wall-crawling superhero from Queens. Some pranksters even cruelly made a very convincing "leaked" after-credits scene to fool gullible fans who believe these reports!
