10 Woefully Troubled Film Shoots That Derailed Major Movies

1. Brendan Lee Died On The Set Of The Crow

Film production derailments don€™t get any worse than the lead actor being gunned down accidentally during a scene. And as you probably already know, that€™s exactly what happened on the set of The Crow. At the age of just 28, Brandon Lee was shot during a scene where his character €“ the eponymous Crow, AKA Eric Draven €“ returns to his apartment to find his fiancée being raped and beaten. Actor Michael Massee€™s character is tasked with shooting him with a revolver. However, unbeknownst to Massee, a bullet was accidentally stuck in the chamber of his gun. It was propelled towards Lee by the force of a blank charge from a distance of around 15 feet. It struck Lee in the abdomen, and he died in hospital later that day after six hours of surgery. After much deliberation, and an injection of $8 million from Miramax, the producers managed to finish the film as Brandon Lee had shot almost everything, leaving only three days of script unaccounted for. The film managed to get back on track, meaning that audiences were allowed to see Lee€™s great performance. Which other famous movies had shockingly troubled productions? Shout out any more down in the comments.
