10 Wolverine Stories We Would Love To See In The MCU

1. Wolverine Origins (But Good This Time)

The six-part saga, Origin, follows Logan during the 1880s shortly after he developed his powers. This period was incorporated into the intro for X-Men Origins: Wolverine but the next century was skipped over so the audience didn’t learn anything about his early life.

Origin is very straight-forward. There’s no Apocalypse or Sentinels. It revolves around a young man on the run, attempting to have a normal life. He hides his powers from humanity while trying to understand them. You could argue that looking at that this sort of story wouldn’t work for a movie. (But then again, X-Men Origins: Wolverine didn’t work as a movie either.)

A few years ago, any studio assumed adapting a story like this would be a massive gamble. But times have changed. Although the film, Logan was action-packed, it clearly focused on humanising the title character rather than depicting him as a superhero. We need to see more of that.

And after the slow-paced, stripped down version of the Joker film was a lauded billion-dollar success, maybe Marvel Studios is willing to take a chance on a more straight-forward Wolverine story. Even if it doesn't work, it CAN'T be worse than X-Men: Origins Wolverine.
