10 Worst Accidental Deaths In Horror Movies
5. The Scalped Woman - Piranha 3D
Piranha 3D may not be big or clever, but it sure is fun, especially once the titular critters start snacking away on all the hapless, beautiful spring breakers.
It's an utter bloodbath, and though there are a number of nauseatingly unforgettable deaths, most of them can't really be called accidental. However, one poor woman suffers her demise not at the piranha but the business end of a speedboat propeller.
When Todd (Cody Anthony) attempts to flee the piranha in his boat - smashing into anyone who gets in his way in the process - he's suddenly overcome by a rabble of people desperately trying to clamber onto the boat.
This forces him to urgently restart the speedboat's engine, not realising that a woman's hair has become entangled in the propeller.
Her screams are unheard by Todd amid the chaos, and when he successfully starts the engine up her face is "degloved" - that is, ripped off in its entirety.
To make matters worse, director Alexandre Aja lingers on the outcome - the woman's eyeballs rest in her bloody skull as salty water washes all over the gory mess.
While she clearly didn't last long after the traumatic moment, those seconds must've been sheer agony. Hopefully she was pretty drunk at least.
