10 Worst Animated Movies Of The 2010s

5. Ice Age: Collision Course (2016)

Ice Age Collision Course Scrat
20th Century Fox

The Ice Age films have long since passed their prime as decent entertainment. The first was a good watch, the second as passable, but they’ve continued to decline in quality over the many years that this franchise has been going. And this 5th outing is the nadir of Blue Sky’s flagship series.

The film immediately jumps the shark by introducing aliens which, through antics with Scrat, launches asteroids towards Earth and it’s up to our Herd of heroes to find out how to stop it. Normally with these kids films, like previous entries on this list, they try to cram so much in that your brain ends up hurting by the end of it. But with Collision Course, that’s basically all that happens. The team learn about asteroids, they find a way to stop them, they stop them, the end.

There are “hijinks” in the movie but nothing is funny in the slightest, it’s poorly written, no-one sounds particularly interested and the audience just comes out incredibly bored by the end of it. And with Disney acquiring the rights to all Blue Sky features following their 21st Century Fox buyout, it’s unlikely we’ll ever seen another instalment of this franchise again. Good.
