10 Worst CGI Effects In Superhero Films

3. The Final Battle – Black Panther

In what is otherwise a solid movie, Black Panther is sadly the product of visual effects teams being overworked and being forced to wrap-up on a project that isn’t finished. Most of the effects in the Marvel blockbuster look fine. In fact, there is some amazing environmental work that really helps to bring the world of Wakanda to life.

This is something that, disappointingly, doesn’t transfer to the final batter between Black Panther and Killmonger. In the fight, the models of both characters become entirely CG to allow for some intricate fight choreography. Unfortunately, these models look lifeless and weightless, making the final battle look distractingly ugly.

This is all understandable when you consider that the teams behind the effects only had six weeks to complete the scene. If this sounds insane to you, that’s because it is. The scene was shot in October and the effects team received the footage in December, meaning they had only a short amount of time make it look passable.

When this is taken into account, it’s actually rather impressive they pulled this off with such little time. If only these incredibly talented people had more time, this scene could have looked excellent.
