This entry is like if you took the floating head of Bruce Banner in Infinity War and multiplied it by a thousand. Green Lantern from 2011 isn’t exactly a great movie. It has a lot of problems, from its screenplay to the terrible villain. But one of its worst offences are the shockingly bad looking Green Lantern suits.

For a movie that came out the same year as Transformers: Dark of the Moon, a movie that has some jaw-dropping effects work, Green Lantern is embarrassing. The Green Lantern suits, which seems like something you’d want to make sure you get right before making a movie called Green Lantern, are difficult to look at.

Aside from the gaudy color and the lack of realistic lighting, lead actor Ryan Reynold’s head appears to be floating above the ether. With the entire suit being CGI, Reynold’s head seems to have no anchor point, as it blissfully floats around the screen, like an apple bobbing in water. While the suits look slightly better on fully CGI characters, they can’t escape the realm of cartoony-looking effects.

With the effect being so poor, it makes you wonder why the filmmakers didn’t just make it practically. With the character primed for a reboot, maybe it's not long before we see how good a Green Lantern suit can look.
