10 Worst CGI Moments In MCU History
6. An Aged Peggy Carter (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has offered so many flashbacks, and de-aged so many characters in such an incredible way that it’s almost second nature now. The likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Michael Douglas, Robert Downey Jr., and now Alfred Molina have all been made to look younger, but what about the reverse?
Steve Rogers was made to look an old man in Avengers: Endgame, but five years earlier The Winter Soldier did something similar with the love of his life. Unfortunately, there was a clear difference between the two results.
With Steve now living in the present/his future, and with Loki dealt with in New York, he went to visit an aged Peggy Carter in her retirement home. As she conversed with him, there was something that just wasn’t quite right about her.
It seemed almost as though her mouth wasn’t properly in sync with the words coming out of it, and her skin looked very obviously fake. Perhaps this wouldn’t have been so bad, but the franchise has shown what wonders it can do with aging, and even mobile phone apps now have the capability to do better than this.
