10 Worst CGI Moments In MCU History
4. Bruce Banner's Head (Avengers: Infinity War)
One of the MCU’s greatest challenges and biggest achievements in terms of CGI has been to bring the Incredible Hulk to life. The brute has changed a lot over the years, in terms of both actor and appearance, but he has always been impressively brought to the big screen.
The irony is that it was when the Other Guy wouldn’t show his face that the franchise struggled with the CGI of just Bruce Banner. After having to create the Hulk for so many years this should have been relatively simple, but it was arguably the worst the character has ever looked.
With the Hulk refusing to surface in Infinity War, Bruce Banner was confined to Tony’s Hulkbuster armour for the Battle of Wakanda. As the team stood around devastated with the losses of half the battlefield, Bruce stood out like a sore thumb.
The Hulkbuster armour was impressive, but it was Bruce’s head that seemed to be floating above it instead of convincingly a part of it that was tough to look at. It robbed the solemn moment of the gravity it deserved, as instead of mourning the loss of the likes of Bucky, T’Challa, and Vision, the audience was drawn to how weak the CGI was.
