10 Worst Decisions Hollywood Has Made In 2016 (So Far)

2. Paramount Ditches The Little Prince

The Little Prince premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival to rapturous reviews, and after acquiring the U.S. distribution rights to the film, Paramount were set to release it on March 18.

However, just a week before that date, they dropped these plans with no further explanation, causing the film to be snapped up by Netflix, who are releasing it in August.

It's an immensely bone-headed move on the part of Paramount, because not only has the film already made almost $100 million internationally, but it won the French Cesar award for Best Animated Feature Film back in February, and had it been given a theatrical U.S. release would've been considered a major contender for next year's Best Animated Film Oscar.

Praise Netflix for once again coming to the rescue and ensuring that this classic will nevertheless find an audience.
