10 Worst Film Couples Of The Last 20 Years

7. Harrison Ford And Anne Heche - Six Days, Seven Nights

It's hard to quantify just how awkward the "romantic tension" between Harrison Ford and Anne Heche is in Six Days, Seven Nights.

Ford had just entered the curmudgeonly portion of his career, while Heche had recently announced her high-profile lesbian relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. Maybe those two things had nothing at all to do with this action comedy tanking, but a cursory skim through Hollywood history would suggest otherwise.

Those initial scenes where they show nothing less than absolute disdain for each other? I can buy that. It obviously comes naturally to them, and they really seem to relish sniping at each other. What I don't buy is the third act turnaround, which instantly transforms their mutual contempt into a sappy, cliche love story, complete with a genuine Run To Declare His Love At the Airport scene.

Anyone who just sat through 90 minutes of their super-realistic antipathy and derision would find it hard to believe this maudlin cop-out, especially since Ford and Heche sell it with all the enthusiasm of a homeless man being forced to take a steamy dump on his last sandwich.
