There was a time when the idea of Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie sharing the screen together would've been a truly tantalizing prospect for fans of quirky, nonconformist romances. But that was a time long before Angelina adopted her third child and Johnny starred in his third Pirates of the Caribbean cash grab.

So yeah, 2010's The Tourist wasn't exactly a hot commodity. Still, moviegoing audiences had every reason to believe this bad girl-turned-Mother Teresa and Tim Burton's favorite toy might reawaken each other's artistic spirits.

But not so much.

The Tourist has been ripped to shreds by roughly 90 percent of the population by this point, and the number one reason for that is the woeful lack of chemistry between its two stars.

From moment one, the two of them look bored and disconnected from each other. But what makes their half-hearted attempts at attraction stick out like such a sore thumb is the complete lack of story, action, and compelling dialogue. Without those essential elements in place, all we're left with is two hot people - who would rather be anywhere else - faintly recognizing that they're standing next to each other.
