10 Worst Films Adapted From Black List Screenplays

3. All About Steve

All About Steve Sandra Bullock
20th Century Fox

The first line on All About Steve’s Wikipedia page helpfully reminds readers it is ‘not to be confused with All About Eve’. No sh*t, Sherlock. One is a critically acclaimed piece of classic cinema and the other is an embarrassingly bad movie that really should never have seen the light of day.

Starring Sandra Bullock as an offputtingly desperate and lovelorn woman who stalks Bradley Cooper’s TV news cameraman, it was described by reviewers as ‘creepy’ and scored a humiliating 7% on Rotten Tomatoes. At the 2010 Razzies, it was nominated for five awards and won two – Worst Screen Couple and Worst Screen Actress.

Kim Barker, the man behind All About Steve’s script, also penned the 2007 romantic comedy License to Wed which was also described as ‘creepy’ and is also the holder of a 7% Rotten Tomatoes rating, funnily enough.

That should’ve been an indication of the kind of movie All About Steve would be but at least Barker seems to have cornered the market for penning creepy, critically panned romantic comedies.
