While 2022's Morbius primarily is a superhero film, the Jared Leto-led effort maintains roots in horror through the titular character's vampiric affliction.

With that being said, Sony and Marvel's effort is also a horror in every other conceivable sense of the word. The notion that a group of people whose entire professional calling revolves around film making could produce such a steaming pile of the unspeakable is enough to make a film buff weep.

The film's nonsensical plot, carried by characters with less charisma than a turnip, leaves audiences silently praying for a stake through the heart - if only to save them from further excruciating viewing. Morbius is dreary, uninspired and just straight up tedious; truly one of the worst offerings any genre has witnessed in recent years. The fact that this enterprise was bestowed with a budget of more than $80 million makes the most placid of individuals want to pull their hair out in frustration.

The failings of this universally lambasted film fall squarely at the feet of its lead man. Jared Leto tries to play Morbius as a nuanced and layered character, but this just serves to irritate the audience further against the backdrop of Daniel Espinosa's laughably bad picture. Just embrace the sh*tshow, Jared, you won't be winning any Oscars for this one.
