10 Worst Horror Movies Of 2018
4. Malevolent
Another dud from Netflix, Malevolent is probably the worst offender for 'completely forgettable', utilising subpar performances and cliched plot like nobody's business. Malevolent is the tired story of a fake medium who's part of a company ran with her brother, attending grieving families and conjuring up ghosts where there were none before in an attempt to take their money and capitalise on their hurt all in one slick operation.
Only, things change when medium Angela starts to ACTUALLY see ghosts. Because of course she does. Agreeing to a job that takes a turn for the worst, Malevolent just simply trudges through its plot being boring and predictable - which is perhaps the worst crime of all. If it was BAD-bad, at least it would elicit some sort of true, angry response, but this film just fizzles out like a wet candle rather than leaving any lasting legacy.
Netflix films often miss the mark, and this is another sad addition to those ranks.
