10 Worst Instances Of Marvel Movies Dropping The Ball

9. Releasing That Version Of Daredevil

Daredevil was somewhat joyless, unremarkable and forgettable. It was meant to be huge - Batman-esque, but with more heart - and, with Ben Affleck in tow, garner respect and solidify the comic book genre as one Hollywood started to take seriously, but it was mostly panned by critics. But did you know that you haven't really even seen the movie unless you've seen the director's cut? Daredevil was a 103 minute movie and the director's cut was a full 30 minutes longer than that and, while that would have made for a long movie, it was infinitely superior in quality. It involved a subplot that was entirely excluded from the released version, which involved a drug addict character played by Coolio. It was darker and far more faithful to the Frank Miller feel of the Daredevil world, with more focus on themes like Matt Murdock's struggle with his Catholic upbringing. Why it wasn't released as the cinematic version is completely baffling.
