One of the most unique storylines ever bestowed upon a Bond film, but one which unfortunately fails to pay off. The idea of a supervillain actively seeking out Bond to prove his superiority could have been masterful in the right hands, but even Christopher Lee's sinister performance as the egotistical Francisco Scaramanga couldn't improve the movie enough. It also features potentially the most offensive Bond-girl ever in the form of Mary Goodnight, a bumbling MI6 agent whose attempts to assist 007 always cause more hassle than help. Worst Moment: The slide-whistle sound effect slapped over the top of Moore's iconic corkscrew jump. It utterly dilutes the spectacular nature of the stunt and makes it needlessly cartoonish - as does the unwelcome presence of Sheriff J.W. Pepper in the passenger seat.
