10 Worst Marvel Movie Decisions

8. The Galactus Cloud

Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben make up Marvel's first family, and one of the most popular properties the comic book giants have to offer. But only on the page, however. When adapted to the big screen, the Fantastic Four have simply not done justice to their comic book counterparts.

With two underwhelming efforts in 2005 and 2007, and a reboot attempt that we'll get to later, there are many reasons why the movies simply didn't work. Tim Story's Rise of the Silver Surfer however, committed a crime against comics that is simply unforgivable.

After a shockingly poor iteration of Doctor Doom in 2005, the Silver Surfer came as the herald of Galactus - one of the greatest villains Marvel have ever put to paper. The hulking, planet eating, skyscraper sized alien would have been something amazing to see on the big screen, but instead, we got a... villainous... cloud.

Fundamentally, this got everything great about the character wrong. Galactus could have been a terrifying, awe-inspiring monster, with the hidden complexity that there is no malice in the destroying of worlds, but simply survival. It's much harder to put this across with a cloud. You'd have thought this would go without saying but apparently not.
