10 Worst Marvel Movie Decisions

5. Iron Man Never Met The Mandarin

Though some super heroes have literally pages and pages of villains in their rogues gallery, there is always one that stands above the rest. Captain America has the Red Skull, Spider-Man has the Green Goblin, and the Fantastic Four have Doctor Doom. In keeping with this theme, Iron Man's arch nemesis from the comics is the Mandarin.

During the build up to Iron Man 3, excitement was through the roof to see Tony Stark come to blows with Ben Kingsley's villain, but that's not what we got. Instead, Kingsley played booze-fuelled actor, Trevor Slattery.

This in itself isn't the worst thing in the world, as it was something different and genuinely surprising. It was just a shame that it wasn't the showdown everyone wanted to see. Just one year later in the Marvel one shot, All Hail The King, it was revealed that the Mandarin and the Ten Rings existed in the MCU, and there was still hope of the long awaited meeting.

Sadly however, Tony Stark snapped his fingers and passed away before having a chance to come face to face with his greatest enemy. Imagine if Cap had never faced Red Skull! While it is great that the villain will be explored in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021, it is a shame Tony Stark won't be the one to face him.
