10 Worst Marvel Movie Decisions

4. Ignoring The Defenders

While the main bulk of the MCU is the 23 movies that make up the Infinity Saga, there is of course the TV aspect of it. Shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Carter, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Inhumans, the upcoming Disney+ slate, and the Netflix corner of the MCU.

Though there were often references in the shows to the movies, this was not reciprocated, and any crossovers were minimal. Despite Marvel working hard on building a shared Netflix universe with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders, all shows were cancelled without any crossover with the movies.

Possibly the most disappointing thing is that there were more than enough opportunities over the years. For one thing, the movies are based in New York. Doctor Strange and Spider-Man both spent a lot of their MCU debuts in the Big Apple, and even Thor spent some time there in Ragnarok. Would it have been that hard to at least reference the Defenders of Hell's Kitchen?

The biggest opportunity would have absolutely been in Civil War. Tony found his newest team member running around New York as a vigilante, and as much as it was the perfect MCU introduction for Peter Parker, he could have at least looked at Daredevil or the bullet proof Luke Cage for help from an already established character.

When Doctor Strange assembled the entire MCU heroes in Endgame, it felt like the Defenders really should have been there.
