10 Worst MCU Films (So Far)

9. Spider-Man: Far From Home

Eternals Marvel

This one might be controversial, but was Spider-Man: Far from Home really that great? Aside from the incredible illusions sequence and that insane mid-credits scene, how much of it can you actually remember?

The trouble with Far from Home is that it's far too focused on being lightweight and jokey, which ultimately ensures that the film is mostly devoid of any particularly thrilling or emotionally involving.

Hell, the film even treats the shattering events of Infinity War and Endgame like a joke - which is an error the subsequent MCU films have also made.

As a result, Far from Home can be fun but it's also fairly hollow and it never, ever feels like any character is in danger. It's also flatly directed, feels far too safe (as is the case with many of the weaker MCU films) and most surprisingly of all, it actually manages to make Spider-Man (Tom Holland), as a hero, feel kind-of boring. That never seemed possible before.

It's not a bad film - the villain is fantastic, Peter and MJ's (Zendaya) romance is excellent and there's definite entertainment value here - but critics still went absurdly easy on this and it's 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes is beyond a joke. Therefore, it's a contender for the most overrated MCU film to date.
