10 Worst MCU Films (So Far)

8. Avengers: Age Of Ultron

On the whole, this was probably the most disappointing film of 2015 and quite possibly the single most disappointing MCU film so far. Not the worst, but the most disappointing.

Considering that Avengers: Age of Ultron was the sequel to The Avengers, which is one of the top-tier MCU flicks and one of the best superhero films of them all, it should not have been this bland.

While it's as well-acted, visually stunning and action-heavy as you'd expect, it's also a weightless and inconsequential film that's insultingly safe and risk-free. It doesn't do anything shocking or interesting and it doesn't do anything significant for the characters; it's just a familiar, paint by numbers superhero story with a complete lack of stakes.

It's also a structural mess with under-developed plot-lines - Thor takes a bath, Cap and Iron Man start quarrelling, Bruce Banner and Black Widow have a cringe-worthy romance - dropping left right and centre. Subsequent reports have suggested that this film was undermined by studio interference and given how jumbled and confused the finished product is, that's easy to believe.
