10 Worst Modern Comic Book Character Adaptations

9. Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)

Bruce Wayne Batman
20th Century Studios

What did Ryan Reynolds do to the screenwriter for this monstrosity to occur. The merc with a mouth lost his mouth, had kitanas implanted in his arms and was supposedly the amalgamation of multiple mutants powers.

Let's all be thankful that he was never brought back in this form.

Brought into existence by William Stryker using the DNA of mutants from Cyclops to Nightcrawler, 'Deadpool' is a powerful villain and actually puts on a good showing against both Wolverine and Sabretooth, the major let down however is that he just doesn't live up to the name.

There is no need to explain the comic book version of Deadpool thanks largely to the two successful Deadpool movies in existence. Perfectly portraying the smart ass that is Wade Wilson with the mutant power of healing and utilising his well practiced mercenary abilities to become one of the deadliest characters in the Marvel Comics Universe (he once killed the entire Marvel Universe).

Deadpool has become a much beloved character since his recent resurgence and that is the only reason he is not number one on this list.
