10 Worst Modern Comic Book Character Adaptations

6. Juggernaut (X-Men: The Last Stand)

Bruce Wayne Batman
Marvel Entertainment

The only reason this truly horrible character is not much further up the list is his limited screen time. Standing out as one of the worst parts of the much maligned X-Men: The Last Stand (that says a lot).

The Juggernaut is known for his unstoppable momentum, being the step brother of Charles Xavier and holding the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, none of which is held onto for this iteration of the character. Throughout the movie we are given the impression that the Juggernaut is in fact a mutant, despite the fact that in comic lore he is simply empowered by the Crimson Gem. During the third act we see his powers negated by the mutant Leech, whose power is to take away any mutant's power within range. Simply put the Juggernaut is not simply another rogue in the gallery of the X-Men, because his power originates from another source foreign to mutation.

The omission that the Juggernaut is in fact the step brother of Professor X takes away a lot of backstory for the villain and makes him seem like just another minion in the grand scheme of things. Had it been stated that he is in fact related to Charles Xavier, his character would have been instantly more fleshed out.

The Juggernaut deserved a lot more than he received in his 2006 outing, unfortunately he will be remember for perhaps the single most cringeworthy line in all of comic book movie history, "I'm the Juggernaut b**ch!". Honestly just that line is explanation enough as to why he is on this list.

Juggernaut was never the most articulate character in comics but he was definitely greater than his 2006 outing.
