10 Worst Moments Of CGI In Jurassic World

3. All The Raptors

Whilst Jurassic World is a triumph in many ways, the Velociraptors are one of the few bum notes. Fans were already appalled at the sight of the franchise's most terrifying, intelligent, and terrifyingly intelligent antagonists being €œtamed€ by Chris Pratt's Owen Grady. The only thing worse would be...well, what happened in The Lost World. Actually, the worst thing that happened to the raptors was being all-CGI. There are certainly moments of that stretching back to the iconic, horrible kitchen scene in the original Jurassic Park. But they work best as animatronics, as they were in the original films, with movements that befit the build of the skeleton that Stan Winston and his company actually built. Along with simply the rendering being off with these new raptors, something about their movements was weird too. That's because human actors were utilised, wearing motion capture suits, as if people have anything approaching a physical similarity to ancient dinosaurs that eventually evolved into birds. That explains a lot, actually.
