10 Worst Movie CGI Of 2019

9. Trash-Tier Green Screen - Angel Has Fallen

Angel Has Fallen

Atrocious CGI has been one of the few reliable constants across the Gerard Butler-starring "...Has Fallen" franchise, and true to form, the otherwise surprisingly decent threequel Angel Has Fallen is awash in mind-bogglingly terrible VFX.

In the film's climax, the villainous Wade Jennings (Danny Huston) blows up the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital where President Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) is recovering from an assassination attempt.

But of course, Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) manages to make the last-minute save, while the audience is forced to sit through a CGI building collapse that looks no better than your average PS2 cutscene.

Especially hilarious is the above shot where Freeman and Butler are terribly green-screened into a plume of smoke.

As is so often a problem with green screen shots, the lighting sources don't match at all, giving the two actors a ridiculous "cardboard cutout" effect.

Granted, the film's budget was "only" $40 million, but even so, this is trash-tier VFX work.
